Step-by-step demonstration for beauty school students to pass the state board exam and get their license (cosmetology and esthetician)
Procedure: wash hands, set up SMA, drape the chair and the client, wash hands again if necessary, cleanse the skin, apply the eye pads, apply the pre-cut gauze moistened with facial oil, apply the red light for 3 minutes, break the light every 30 seconds, remove the light, wash hands, add massage cream, massage: effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, vibration, and friction (3 movements out of those 5 are mandatory, but it is better to perform all 5 movements), remove the cream with tissue mittens, tighten the pores, undrape the client and clean up.
Make sure that you have filled out the client record card and indicated that your client has dry skin. Blue light is for oily, and white is for normal; no gauze necessary.
If in doubt; follow the state board performance criteria for the correct procedure; you can download it from your state's state board web cite.

  • @barellgibbs4 You welcome!

  • THANKS FOR GREAT VIDEO

  • @TheDleiker California State Board has a special hair styling chair that also becomes a facial chair. They provide a head rest that attaches to the chair that you use for hair procedures and it is located on the top of the 3 level drawer attached on the wall next to your mirror station. Once you attach the head rest and drape the chair, you can seat your model, hold the back of the chair, and recline the chair for the facial procedure.

  • will the facials be done at our station our at another area in the test room?

  • @TheSummurlove5 Infrared light has to be on face approximately for 5 minutes for California State Board, 24 to 30 inches away.

  • hello (= , do yuh kno if we have to wait the actual time limit for the dermal lights or is it simulated at state board?
