I thought that those who find this video would like to know that TCM in the US will be broadcasting The Constant Nymph on their network on Wed., Sept. 28th @ 08:00 PM (ET) and it is rumored that the picture quality of this film is excellent (based on the accounts of those who saw the film at the TCM film festival earlier this year). A DVD is to follow soon--believe or not--after half a century largely out of circulation!

Joan Fontaine was wonderful!!

Saw this for the 1st time last night. The scene near the end, where she is explaining to him that he must have known, as a little boy, that she was coming for him, was heartbreaking. It described perfectly how people sometimes just have a 'feeling' for another. This needs to be released ASAP. It is so amazing.THANK YOU for posting this clip!!

@pionex123456 Too bad the channel programs are different for each region. I have never seen the Constant Nymph here in Lima, Peru, again since I saw it in a theatre here on May 28, 1951!!! (yes, 1951 - 60 years ago!!)

This marvelous clip is just a suggestion of a very fine film featuring an astonishing performance by Joan Fontaine. She is so fresh and spontaneous, in the way she runs to her friend, like a young doe, or catches herself in surprise, when she realizes that he's brought a stranger with him, or the way her face is illuminated when she speaks of her beloved and the life she anticipates with him. To watch her in this is to see a pool of golden sunlight, the surface stirred by the breath of God.

But I saw a complete movie of this in the You-tube last year. I just can' t remember the code. some of Joan's movies are coded, meaning not the exact title. Its a great movie. Joan is consistently great in all her movies. She's a natural. Even in her old B movies, she excels, I guess her only great rival is really her sis Livvie.
Thank you for this bit of a great film! I saw it back in 1951 and immediately fell for Joan Fontaine. As a romantic teenager I saw it as often as theaters would show it and even wrote a happy ending - what they call it now fanfic. I was to bashful I kept it for myself for about a year and then hid it by the seaside (at the Barranco/Chorrillos malecón, Lima, Peru) and then I could not find it again! You bring to my memory things buried for 60-odd years!
