Thanks zero. Too bad that they missed. Still, if i were commander, i would of bombarded those beaches until all enemy were cleared. No bunkers, no machine-gunners, no nazis. But...

@bocaboy12 The airforce did bomb the beaches for an half an hour straight before the landing occurred. They where suppossed to serverly damage the germans defenses along the coast but in reality they ended up hitting nothing. Thats one of the reasons why the omaha beach landings was such a massacre.

Can somebody answer me this question: if the allies knew that nazis were bunkered in waiting for the invasion, WHY didnt they postpone the invasion itself and bomb the HELL out of them beaches until they became glass parking lots? The nazis had fighter planes but so did the allies. I'm talking a round-the-clock bombing 4 like a month str8!! Allies could of planned a day @ the beach rite b4 climbing the dunes, thats how safe it would of been. Not 1 single axis member. No casualties. Thanks
