I am one of the residents that may have to be evacuated because of the fires going on around the areas of San Diego. The one closest is the Harris fire that peaked over Mount Miguel early this morning- I happen to be outside when it happened, watching.

I put a few clips with commentary together for people to few if you wish.

  • no joke ill be quite honest with everyone ive lived in Spring Valley for 12 years and the main thing that saved Spring Valley was Sweetwater Reservoir it was so convenient for the firefighters to dip there and put the fires out.

  • I personally believe this was the worst fire incident in the history of my living in this area (since 1982).

The day we had to evacuate via reverse 9-1-1 scared the crap out of me, I would not have my worst enemy go through what I did. it was to me Gods grace, after 2-days we were allowed back in & our home unharmed ... The freaken fire came within 1/2 mile ... I feel sad for the on es who did not make it.

  • That was the wost day of my life. I had to evacuate. About 11pm they showed my neighborhood in the news with the fire in the background. I couldn't sleep the enter night, that was the most pain I've ever been in. The next morning my parents checked on the house, and it made it. The fire wa less then a half mile from my house. When I talk about this with my friends they act like I'm over reacting, but they didn't had to evacuate and doesn't know what this felt like.

  • Hey Brice. It's Iris.Timmy's friend.

  • around 2:30 is when the flames started really coming down mt.miguel and is when everyone in areas around spring valley such as manzana way, skyline, and paradise hills started leaving

it was the scariest thing i have ever been through

  • Your video is great; it truly captured the horror of what we awoke to! I live just 1/4 mile north/east of the where the flames suddenly decided to stop. We all stood atop a hill and held each tight as another dear friend watched her house diminished to ash. You really captured the emotion from beginning to end. Thank you!

  • Great job! I live in Chula Vista and have lived here for...well a long time. I have never been so scared in all my life and I couldn't see the flames from my house. And you are right, you start to look around, do I take this, this, this or this. How big is the car, how much can I fit in there, where will we go, what happens next? Thank you firefighters! My thoughts to those who lost so much.

  • i live ther to but i live down by the elementary school

  • *huggles* ;.; Be safe!
