HA! That PS3 is from near where I live XD

What causes this problem in the first place? Is it due to poor quality solder that softens due to heat like with the Xbox 360, or is it some other problem?

Aw, I still miss my 40Gig. :(
But, I got a Slim now, so it's all good. :)

Nice score on the system, Hopefully you can get the Yellow light problem all sorted out. When you get a chance, youve gotta put a second vid on your Nomad :D
great work as always man

@lukemorse1 Lol, thanks. Dude I'm desperate to get that Nomad fixed so I can get some portable Mega Drive action going! :) . It's just sitting on my PC desk begging to be played, lol. The new LCD screen has been dispatched so hopefully it'll turn up next week at some point. I'm also looking into getting a rechargeable battery pack to mod for it too. I'll post an update vid as soon as the screen arrives :)

Nice...looking foward to part 2 :) I always wondered if this was caused by the 'newer' type of leadless solder

@thomas3120 I just hope the seller was honest and it doesn't have a faulty Blu-ray drive or any other hidden surprises!
Personally I think the lead-free solder has a lot to do with these consoles (PS3 and 360) throwing up all kinds of hardware errors. I think someone actually proved it was the main problem on the older 360s. I seem to remember an article where someone had x-rayed a motherboard (or maybe it was just a microscope) and showed pictures of where the solder had failed.
