My first tutorial. sorry about having no voice explaining each step, but I hope this can still be helpful

Here are some links for you to check out

Anyways
A little explanation:
What you'll do is to duplicate your object and using One as a MAIN object and the other one as the OUTLINE object.

MAIN OBJECT
we need to give to that one a nice "cartoon" look by going to the Material Editor and setting the parameters as follow

Ambience: 1
Diffuse: 1000
Specular: 0.500
Emissive: 0.000
Rough: 0.10
Trans: 1
Brillieance: 1e+007

*Note: you can experiment with this so feel free to use your own setting... you might find something better

Now the OUTLINE OBJECT
for this one we need to convert the object into a Mesh
and what we'll do with this mesh is to give it a material.. just like the the one used in the windows glasses in the interrogation rooms... you know... those that you can see through if your standing in one side but if you go to the other side you won't see anything.
anyways that's the idea so we make sure that we setup the following parameters in our material editor as follow:

Select "Two Sided"
Click on FRONT and make sure that
Spacular = 0.000
Trans = 0.00

Now click on BACK
and make sure that
Specular = 0.000
Select Black Color.
and apply it to the object

Click SHOW ALL
And after this
you should have your results..
the rest is up to you... you can change some of the parameters if you like.

Any questions let me know
you can also google:
-Terranim8or, and
-Cre8tor

These software are free and they let you create pretty cool backgrounds, landscapes and games. each program file is compatible with each other.

well thanks for watching and I appreciate any comments but the stupid ones.
Hopefully I'll upload more tutorials.

Thanks!

  • @Sacredheart193 Thanks for the comment and well everybody can draw a ball in this software :) but the purpose of the video is to show how to give a cartoonish or 2D look to a 3D figure.... just like the dragon ball Raging Blast game... it's 3D but it looks just like the cartoons.

  • nice i may do a cartoon now....thanks for the tutorial.

  • You're welcome.. I barely using this software too... so I decided to do this since it's hard to find tutorial in many stuff you can do with this program...

    Also I'm finishing my first human body character but it's freaking hard for the animation...

    I'm using brush weight but I always have problems so if someone has any idea let me know!
