You walked into the party
Like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror
As you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

You had me several years ago
When I was still quite naive
Well, you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved
And one of them was me
I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

Well, I hear you went up to Saratoga
And your horse naturally won
Then you flew your Lear jet up to Nova Scotia
To see the total eclipse of the sun
Well, you're where you should be all the time
And when you're not, you're with
Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend
Wife of a close friend, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

  • the musical talent of 'carole king,' the angst of a young alanis morisette, such a pretty pair. a nearly perfect pop tune.

  • Love this, reminds me of better days...

  • Yes I love the singing of Mick, the're so great together

  • Maybe the song is about all of those guys; Beatty, O'Neil; AND Jagger....an amalgamation about her youth. But it is partly or mostly about Jagger. That's why he's singning low harmonies with her on it. Can'y you hear him? British Accent intact. Nobody sounds like Mick; and he's big enough to laugh at himself.

  • Carly Simon,it doesn't matter what 'boys' say.007 is always here for YOU.

Tough as nails and ready Baby!..I love you,Kim

  • Carly , you were a lot older than me ,but you were a great mentor on my problems when i was so young . You are a classic American beauty ,and always will be . You knew i had a puppy love crush on you , still do ,always will . But you were always a lady , and a kind one at that . P.S. Gena Davis does not have as pretty a mouth as you do , and you were the original Trout Pout look that was for real. Davy
