These are our dearly loved pet duckies. They are 5 months old now, fully mature. They make a cute liitle mixed flock. We have a male and female each of Cayuga, Welsh Harlequin, and Pekin.

We built them a LARGE aviary so they would have a safe place to forage and run and play. We also built a duck house for protection from the weather and for additional protection at night.

You can see more pictures and read about our duckies at irishMamaDuck (dot) blogspot (dot) com

  • Im getting 2 khaki campbells, I was wondering if you know if there good ducks to have, I have everything they need I just wanted to know if there loud or messy or stuff like that please reply:)

  • @tttbbaoz131 ALL ducks are messy... this is a fact for all breeds. I do not have any Khaki Campbells so I don't know how they would rate on the noisy scale. Our Pekins are by far our loudest, but also can be the most cuddly. Muscovy are the only truly quiet ducks. MAYBE SOMEONE WITH KHAKI CAMPBELLS WILL REPLY

  • @tttbbaoz131 search "Khaki Campbells Ducks" "lawsonslionheads" this video lets you see and hear Khaki Campbells

  • Please read the warnings about getting pet ducks at the website below. Don't just take this as being over-reactive or over-protective there is NOTHING the MrFlapper's mama exagerates here: mrflapper(dot)com/blog/want-a-pet-duck/

You can read more about the breeds and caring for ducks and ducklings at: metzerfarms(dot)com

  • What happened to the other older pekin ducks?

  • @juliafan23 Sadly, Bianca and Alex our first feathered loves were taken by coyote last spring while they were out foraging during the day (unusal behavior for coyote who normally hunt at dusk or just after dark). It was TERRIBLE our hearts broke. We took the a big heart risk to have ducks again. Our new enclosure is almost 1000sq ft, so they have plenty of room to play and forage and just be ducks and they are not and will not be let outside the duck aviavry unattended.

  • Don't the drakes fight during the breeding season??

  • How often do you clean out the pool. I sadly lost my male pekin duck due to botulism and the only thing I can think of is the pool. I cleaned it out at least 2-3 times a week but I probably should have everyday. I have "new duck owner" written on my forhead. .

  • GREAT aviary and great predator-proof night pen. Very nice that you know just how to keep your ducks safe. Awesome.

  • @plutomarvin I got me two babies and I had them in the past but they died from raccoons this time I'm putting a wire top so nothing can climb over nothing better touch my ducklings this time I had chickens get killed from raccoons to in the past. Poor duckies :(
