The way this builds up to the crescendo is mind blowing. I've never seen Porgy and Bess, but those last seven notes at the end of the song just feel incredibly heartbreaking to me. Like something has been lost.

One of the most sinister joints I have ever heard. Something that would be played in the waiting room in hell. It is however intensely creative and a wonderful piece of music.

Gil Evans was real genius!!! Use of modal harmony in Gershwin's Porgy & Bess has unbeleiveably powerful..... Plus working with Miles Davis.......there's no such word to express how good it is.
