  • I live in the wrong era! Why did the 70's bring such good stuff?

  • @bagostix

    Amen to that

  • WOW!!! I haven't heard this since around 1975. GRYPHON toured so successfully with YES in 1974-5, as the main act was touring its phenominal "Relayer" album, with Patrick Moraz on keyboards. That was a magical time! I just love this very imaginative genre of musical. How much I miss that in our current absence of anything that can remotely deserve the word "captivating"!

  • @bagostix It was a time before corporate suits took over record companies new talent departments. They used to actively seek out qualified individuals for that role. It takes a forward thinking company to realize that the expense needed for hiring someone with these special abilities is worth the expenditure required. In other words, profit. As a result the art/music suffers, the musicians suffer and the public suffers. Suits, STAY HOME. WE NEED REAL MUSIC NOT LADY GAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am 21 and this is freaking awesome!

    Prog still has a future!

  • @CHICAGOANDBEACHBOYS1 I think they were on the "Tales" tour - If I recall correctly, Ace opened for the Relayer tour

  • had this as my driving music for a long time in the 80's - i was 10 years too young to catch them at the time..... The problem with getting go hear bands with this ethic is that available music is swamped by commercial produce. It's undoubtably there, but hard to find. Great post.

  • I expect to see fairies popping out of my garden. Loved this.

  • Saw them in Iowa City with YES in 1975. One of most amazing concerts I ever saw.

  • OMG I wish I played bassoon like this dude!

  • it sounds like the lord of the rings.
