http://www.beadaholique.com/?CAWELAID=975382778 - Beadaholique's Julie demonstrates how to use Easycast Clear Casting Epoxy to make pendants. Measure equal amounts of resin and hardener then mix. Add colorants, granite powders or found objects, pour into bezel pendants and allow to cure.

  • ohh but i remember that nite was cold after i make it was around 65* o.o

  • @titisita22 Honestly I have not heard that a mold needs to be shiny for the piece to be shiny. It does need to be smooth though and non porous if you want a sleek shiny surface. It could be the temperature drop which caused you some problems. My husband hates it but i leave the heat on all night when I pour just to make sure there is not a temperature fluctuation.

  • hi plz i need help i use IKEA heart shape mold for >>> ice to make my resin and my resin came out umm like .. cloudy but just at the bottom why is that ?? :( the top is soo clear and shiny why the bottom is cloudy??? you think it was the mold??? you think i can fix it ?

  • @titisita22 Hi! Since the mold you are using is from Ikea and not something that I have worked with, I unfortunately can not say whether the mold is the culprit. I know a lot of people who use ice molds for resin and they turn out ok. Whenever I hear "cloudy" with resin, the first thing that comes to mind is temperature. Was it cool or cold in your house when you poured and for the curing process?

  • @Beadaholique Also, the fact that the top came out clear and the bottom was cloudy, that sounds like a settling issue. Was it cloudy as in discolored or cloudy as in there were a lot of bubbles? If you could give me a few more details, I can see if I can think of anything else to maybe try.

  • can you use your average lighter or flame to pop the bubbles? will it just take a bit longer if you use a lighter?

  • @braefisherchannel Yes, you can use an average lighter to pop the bubbles just be careful not to burn your fingers. A micro-torch or a bbq lighter gives you more control and keeps you further away from the flame.

  • thanks sooo much for refly it was around 75* so thats why i dont think it was the temperature but some one said that i have to use a shyni mold to get my resin come out shyni is that true??

  • @Beadaholique

hi! just want to know if the ice resin or casting resin can use for RTV 585 silicone rubber mold? I have already a RTV 585 silicone rubber mold but unfortunately when i tried to epoxy resin it goes to sticky and even when it leave to cure for 3 days it will just remain sticky. Is that my mistake or the rtv 585 silicone is not compatible with the casting resin?I hope to give me some advice from you.thanks

  • @Beadaholique I would suggest trying a test piece making sure the measurements are exact (mix 1 oz, mixing less can cause problems too), the temperature is even (around 70 - 75 degrees is good), let your resin sit for 5 minutes before pouring to let some of the bubbles escape (which will give you a more glass like look), and pour a thin layer. I hope this helps!
