@reindenaab F-16 has many names: The Official Nato name is Fighting Falcon, but ground crews and pilots often call them Vipers, referring to the Battlestar Galactica Series...
Another commenly used name was "electric jet" because it was one of the first planes to have a computer-aided flightcontrol system (fly-by wire).
A plane with even more names was the F-104 Star Fighter
Flying Coffin
Ground Nail
Widowmaker
Manned Rocket
(Most, referring to the massive deadly accidents on this airframe)

Viper is gewoon een andere bijnaam voor f16, hoor. Alleen wordt deze iets minder gebruikt. Fighting Falcon is de meest courante bijnaam.
