OMG, Terrence Howard (nothing against him personally), that is the WORST most CONFUSED portrayal of an accent I've ever heard in my life! Madiba sounds NOTHING remotely close to that

Of course, Jennifer Hudson was cast as the female lead why would the studio cast an unknown South African actor? Hollywood is a business and the studio NEEDS major media attention to generate publicity. An unknown South African actors would not get worldwide attention. I understand some South African actors are upset but Hollywood is a business. Why are people so upset about this film? Could it be because this film will tell the truth about Winnie Mandela?

at one aspect, people also will mainly focus on the story of Winnie more than the way they acting..like me..of course Howard is not great but there are not a lot of popular people out there which you can use it to imitate Mandela. Samuel Jackson and Denzel are not close to look like him at all.

Gosh people need to learn to be more positive, we should enjoy the fact that they are doing a movie to represent and celebrate the life of the one of the greatest women on earth, as an african i appreciate the effort yall are busy talking about the accents, i think they did good, let's just support this as a way to appreciate what Nelson and Winnie Mandela did

Those are just horrible South African accents. I know there is a large pool of talented South African actors they could have gotten to play these roles. So disappointed!!!!!!

I don't think it's fair to say she was an unknown when she was cast in Dreamgirls, because she had been on American Idol. But it's true to the extent that she wasn't known as an actress, and she was really just thought of as a reality show reject at that point.
