I actually read somewhere that, even in 1936, Jesse Owens felt more welcome by the general German public--in public places, in commercial establishments like hotels, restaurants--than he did in America. Irony knows no bounds. God bless his soul. I heard Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali felt the same way when he went to Canada to fight George Chuvalo: he didn't feel the racial tension that plagued America at the time.

hitler says blacks and especially jews were inferior and white german with a certain hair, skin and eye color were part of a "master race" so hitler got mad and didnt appreciate jesse for him winning so boom... jesse proved hitler wrong
