  • Yes, there are examples in the OT of people receiving jewelry, but it is for more symbolic reasons and covenant reasons. We are no longer under OT law. Yes, we are to follow the scriptures of the OT, but scriptures that apply to the Tabernacle, Blood Sacrifice(Cain and Abel), etc. and also these about jewelry are under the OT law. Jesus' birth removed that OT law. The jewelry given in the OT was given for covenant reasons.Today in the church, wedding bands represent a marriage covenant.God Bless

  • @bridg92 Sometimes the jewelry in the OT is spoken about symbolically and sometimes it is spoken about literally. The passage concerning what the high priest was supposed to wear was LITERALLY gold. My point was that even when it speaks of gold symbolically, God wouldn't use something that is sinful to convey a larger point. Also, no where in the Old or new testament does God condemn jewelry. Its simply not there!
