Noticeably funkier than a lot of today's trance, 'Zara' builds with waves of choppy, electro-charged grooves, before taking us into a characteristically musical breakdown that has been providing a highlight moment in Above & Beyond's recent sets. Making an all-too-rare appearance on Anjunabeats, the veteran innovator Oliver Smith delivers a classy alternative remix that touches on Toolroom-style electronic house before introducing a clean, striking interpretation on the original melodies.
