Frontline -The Medicated Child 1 of 6

Excellent PBS program that shows how todays kids are being turned into nothing but unnecessary customers for pharmaceutical and medical industry.

Filled with some of the usual medical propaganda such as a 90% cure rate for childhood cancers. All depends on how you define "cure" since doctors even consider patients who die in treatment to be "cured" because the disease DID stop it's progression after all. The fact that the patient died is considered irrelevant. This is the insanity of modern so called "medicine"

My mother felt like I needed help. I was tested and quickly diagnosed with ADHD. After more than 5 different prescriptions I refuse to take another pill. Now I am epileptic. Of course the doctor recommends another Rx to fix this, too. In my work I see students like my own children being told they need to be medicated. We need to do something!! Teach your children well!!

This is GREAT. US medical feild is a fancy word for butcher shops. You trust these clowns??? YOUR FAULT!!! NOT the doctor... or quack.. or whatever. messed up country.. the one I live in. I go to Mexico for all my medical care. Every Dr. has a number that you can call and verify his GRADES in school, what he specialized in, etc. Good luck to the rest of you.

I feel so bad for my step son...he is only 12 and is on 4 different meds...adhd,bipolar,sleeping meds and something else...now im not saying that some children dont have these problems but take my stepson for example he was always a happy child then he was sexually assaulted and he was angry and sad and they said bipolar...well of course a child isnt going to be all rainbows and butterflies after something like that...but guess what the meds arent helping.

these phsycologists dont know shit. They dont really do any research at all, and will never ask the question if theres a legitimate source for feeling bad. Dealing with the problems on hand legitimitly never seems to enter the equation, they just medicate problems and point to issues of the past that are irrelevant.

American science never solves anything. But we are experts at patching problems and putting a lid on it and pretending it goes away. Look at schools, economics, justice etc.
