Harold Payne sings "Daylight"

Hit songwriter Harold Payne performs the song "Daylight" which he co-wrote with Bobby Womack. The song reached the top 5 on the Billboard charts for Womack, and was later recorded by Leon Russell and Vickie Sue Robinson among others.

Recently it was recorded by singer Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child for her album "Ms. Kelly - Diva Deluxe" and used in her film "Asterix at the Olympic Games".

Damn, this is GREAT! When you have TALENT you don't need a sampler or sequencer to show off your talent. It's a great song. Great songs lend themselves to being covered multiple times. And for all you would-be singer-songwriter types, notice that the man's chord vocabulary isn't limited to major and minor triads. Whoever the female was singing background, she MUST be a pro as well. We just don't get songs like this anymore.

this guys a great songwriter and one of my favorite singers. how he never made it as vocalist/artist i,ll never know.I wonder if you remember the song /dont wanna lose you now /that you penned in the 80s.
