I wish opera companies and orchestras would stop programming this piece out of the show. I know audiences love it, but every opera company does it this way for fundraisers and patron dinners, and it has become so hackneyed I can't stand it. The singers stand around looking at each other with no idea of how to present it out of context, so it becomes vapid and dull, and there a hundred better drinking songs out there for people to clap to if they want. Next time try "Roll out the barrel" maybe.

Ich war leider bei dieser außerirdischen Veranstaltung in Baden-Baden nicht dabei, habe es aber im Fernsehen gesehen und habe auch die CD. Anna war so wunderbar, hat sogar barfuß an Walzer auf dxer Bühne getanzt.
