First Aware

From first aware to life's twilight,
Kaleidoscope of sense beauty bright,
From beginning to end hearts' delight,
Experienced beyond absolute foresight,
With both hands, we hold with all our might.

Tastes beyond all scope of ration,
Sights beheld in all manner of fashion,
Sounds heard so pure filled with action,
Touch shared with zeal beyond any caption,
These joined turbulently tossed about with passion.

Together we sail this coaster ride,
Slowly up then down the other side,
Life's cycles not unlike those of the tide,
Though a timid fallacious few might hide,
We shall take the bad with the good in stride.
Looking back reveals only the past,
Grasping on to memory will not tie fast,
Winsome dreams as lures we reel and cast,
Our obstacles at times seemed wide and vast,
We must relish each day long as they might last.....
