  • @7oct1936 is Damolly near Newry? did u know the Murphy family who lived ( i think on Damolly Rd) ? spent many a holiday in ireland, Warren point/Newry, just curious

  • @osammyboy93

Why would it be odd for a Newry man to go to Covent Garden?

It only says he was born in Newry,a Newry man can travel.

  • the best song that he ever sang so sad and yet so irish

  • What men of genious were the dubliners, just fancy having the great Luke Kelly & this great Sean Cannon in your group let alone all the others, Pure MAGIC.

  • Great song and so well sung and preformed.

I was born in Damolly --- The doctors hill, 75 years ago.

Sean makes a brilliant rendition of this song, Who cares where it was from origionally

  • good but i prefer toraigh version

  • @BarryBurtonfan Thanks for response. First time I sang it at a session I was corrected. i think it might be a bit odd for the Newry highwayman to go to Covent Garden to see "the play". Anyway it is a great song and Sean is up there among my favourite singers and the song is now part of my repertoire.

  • thnks for this...

  • Great song ang great singer but I think It's actually an Enlish song "The New Lynn Highwayman"
