  • i clean my guns everytime i use them but for some reason i get rust on the barrel does anyone have any advice??? seems like no matter what i do they rust. not super expensive guns but its still annoying trying to take care of something and it gets rust spots on it....would be different if i abused my things

  • @njduquette are you touching the metal with your hands after your clean it? If you keeps ur guns in a safe buy a little dehumidifier.

  • @xxxM85xxx i try not to touch it after. ive been told to oil the outside of the barrel ive been told to keep it dry and just wipe it down. i have a safe with the "dry packs" not sure what brand or what they are called....my dad gets them

  • @njduquette What kind of oil/cleaner are u using? ever try a different brand. Also the rags ur using they are clean and dont have anything else on them right?

  • From what I've read in the manual, you're supposed to rack it back all the way before you take the barrel out and you NOT supposed to slide the pump forward again while the barrel is off. Something about breaking the receiver. If I'm mistaken, someone let me know.

  • @camarogod93 doing it that way is not going to hurt a thing.. I have do it this way and on my 870 for years and its never hurt a thing

  • This guy doesn't know what he's doing. Took him more time removing the sling than anything else. Also, don't pump it with the barrel off unless you want to pay to fix it. I did enjoy watching him fumble with the barrel as he tried to reassemble it. Next timee leave the forearm about halfway up. It will make it easier

  • This gun is too hard to get back together. I would rather have an automatic. An automatic is not as dramatic or scary sounding to an intruder, but will still flat out kill ya, and still be a good bird gun...one you can take apart and put back together when needed.

  • Hi i have a new havern by mossberg 600 at is it the same can i use this vid

  • @xxxM85xxx i agree with your comment, however. remingtons have dual slides, therefore will stand up to more wear and tear, as well as not break as easily. mossbergs unfortunately have single slides which makes them more prone to bendeing breaking etc...

  • @moparmaniac21 really? i know this sounds bad but ive probably fired about 500 since i last cleaned and oiled it...but im cleaning it now so it's all good =D

  • @xxxM85xxx 870 and the 500 are slightly different, I did pulled the slide all the way back and when putting the barrel back in I pushed just a tick too hard and ended up bending the slide cause it caught on the shell interrupter
