Laser is used to fragment stones in the urine tube. It is highly effective with low risk of injury. http://www.urologycentre.com.sg/stone_treatment.html

  • The use of laser and endoscopy surgery (scope) has averted the need for a large surgical incision to removed large kidney stones.

  • Really useful, thanks:)

  • Having this done in 2 days. At least I now know whats going to happen

  • Depending on how small they break the stone up it can still be painful to pass. Also if they put a stent in that you have to leave in for days, pieces of the stone will end up passing in-between your ureter and the stent which can be painful. I have had 11 surgeries in 3 years to get kidney stones the size of golf balls out.

  • @maryjo97 when this happens to you, when you pass them do you still feel pain?

and can everyone get the lazar thing if they want?

  • that's Great

  • I had this done last month...it felt like I was peeing razor blades for about 2 days...the stent removal was the worst part
