One can't ever get enough of Kurddal, so here's another one of him :-)

There's excellent musicianship here too. Watch Ben Pascoe do his thing on lead guitar, Hendrix style!

  • Is Ben Pascoe related to Johnny Pascoe Buniyira?

  • @insect1752 in a way, yes, coz every1 is related. but just because they share the name pascoe doesn't mean they are related in the way mainstream society might think. ben is crocodile tribe, warra warra, johnny is magpie goose tribe ganalbingu.

  • @ididjaustralia I am trying to understand, from a very far distance away... I saw on the 12 Canoes website a dog and flying fox creation story that I think was Johnny? But I think from the movie that David Gulpilil's creation story is water goanna. I don't really understand, of course... but I am trying.

  • @insect1752 keep asking questions if u like no probs

  • @ididjaustralia I don't know which questions are mannerly, and which are rude. So if I am rude, forgive me. How are Johnny and Ben related? Also, is David Gulpilil also ganalbingu? I think Crusoe is from another area, up near Darwin. Yes?

  • @insect1752 ooo... that's a tricky one. why do you want to know all this buddy? i realise information of this nature can be used in inappropriate ways by mining companies and others. until i know u better, your best bet is to ask crusoe and david and ben and johnny yourself. prob some of the info is public domain if you searched the web thoroughly enough :) mundane questions im happy to answer

  • @ididjaustralia I hear you. Myself, I am not mining or anything like that - I am a middle-aged woman from the northeast US (mostly Maine, and Maine at the moment) with a lifelong interest in traditional Australian culture. Lately I have been very taken with the film 10 Canoes, and also I have a distant cousin in Australia (Mornington) who is very much interested in Aboriginal affairs, and keeps me up on the news. But I am also just someone on the internet, so yeah, you are right.

  • @insect1752 yup he is!

  • Anyone who has not seen Kurddal as the 'ancient ancestor' Ridjimiraril in the film '10 Canoes' should do so right quick. He's wonderful, and so is the film.

  • I'm moving to Ramingining!

    :)
