I bet EA figured out it's cheaper to just allow people to "not require RA3 to play" so they didn't have to produce an expensive *new* intro cinematic. Every little dime counts, amirite, EA?

Actually this is a video that provides an overview of happenings in Red Alert 3. They probably put it in there since it is not requiered to have Red Alert 3 in order to play Uprising.
