HTC Amaze 4G - Review & Small Things (Telus, Mobilicity, TMobile, Wind)

I think the iPhone finally got some worthy competition! We take a look at the phone, its specifications, start-up time, software, browser, video playback, how the HTC Amaze 4G x715m performs in direct sunlight and a list of small things to keep in mind.

Running Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 with SenseUI 3.0, an 8MP camera with autofocus & dual-LED flash, an awesome qHD display, 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, let's see if this truely is an amazing phone.

Common question: What's the difference between the HTC Amaze 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S II X? Just the screen size and manufacturer (software)...that's it.

I'm curious, do the camera and camcorder buttons work as shutter buttons, or only to open the applications?

@OrkyBorkyGorky Hi! There are two buttons, one for pictures and the other for video. Both act as shutter buttons as well when the camera is launched.

How is the front facing camera on this? Because I plan on using Skype, so I want a phone which has a decent camera. :]

@AnimalLuva4000 Hi! The HTC A4G has a 2MP front-facing camera. The quality is good, but since there is no LED light, it suffers in low-light conditions (any camera does). The resolution in perfect for Skype and VoIP apps, just keep your area somewhat illuminated. Cheers!

The screen is Super LCD but the resolution is QHD (960 by 540) it's too bad that none of the Canadian wireless company (telus , videotron, wind and all) don't have this phone in the white version :(. Awesome review and I was wondering if you could make a comparison review between this phone and the iPhone 4s I know the amaze is way more powerful and can do a lot more of thing but I wanna see it ^.^
