To me it looks like the problem is the horse and the fact that he doesn't use his back properly. He trots with a lowered back and a stiff neck and is therefore unable to move softly. If you could find someone to help you deal with this issue I think you'll find yourself to be able to sit the trot pretty quickly. :)
this is pretty much exactly what i look like! :L i find sit trotting so hard to master. my legs are always so sore afterwards. try doing it without you stirrups. this helped me a bit, as i have a tendency to just rise to the trot when i feel uncomfortable. :) i hope you master it soon! && hopefully i do too! ;) haha. good job though.
