I interned under Herman Schwartz at The Strawberry Press Marin Bolinas Botanical Garden. Schwartz was a man of many talents who helped start Kaiser hospitals in Northern California, The Organic Niman Ranch Beef Franchise, and collected the world's largest assortment of succulent and euphorbia plants. Herman was imbued with a sense of innocence, and frequently commented,"It's a wonderful world," while talking about his beloved plants. From Rags to riches, from the hebrew orphan assylumn, to Harvard, Herman's life is the story of an American dream come true.
