The ruins of Egypt and Nubia before the advent of photography. Paintings are by David Roberts. Music is Prelude to Ben Hur, conducted by Miklos Rozsa, property of DRG Records. Inspired by the old BBC program Romer's Egypt. Dedicated to my Amisi, the Eternal Blossom.

  • Many of the ruins still showed paint upon the columns, capitols and facades when these paintings were done. Alas, the paint has long since faded.

  • A fine artist was that David Roberts. I've only recently become very conscious of his work. A great window into the past, useful in tracking how the Egyptian landscape has changed over more recent centuries.
