I've successfully and easily upgraded many EPiServer 4.X sites with Extension 2.X. The problem arised with EPiServer CMS and its changes in the database model, API etc.
However, the new version of X3 makes exclusive use of the data abstraction built into EPiServer CMS (for instance, every extension page and function is saved as a "shadowpage" which really is just an EPiServer page), thus upgrading, exporting and compability has significantly improved.
Is this "amazing" new plugin as incompatible with episervers as the previous versions?
Many companies who previously got tricked into using extensions are now locked down to outdated versions of episerver because there is no other way to upgrade than copy-paste all content into a new installation. How is that saving money?
