A visit to the Earthship office in Taos, New Mexico. The pioneering architect/creator of Earthships, Michael Reynolds, is out to help the world with homes that take care of their owners. Earthships are totally self-sustaining in power, water, and sewage use. http://www.earthship.org

  • @leloodallasmultipass Interesting reaction.

  • @kissfool I totally agree. I have a policy when dealing with anyone: They have to be perfect people if I am going to talk with them at all. If the way they behave does not line up with the fantasy that I have created for them in my head, that's it. I'll be super polite about writing them off, though... make it sound like I hate to do it. I find the word "disappointed" and all its conjugations really enables a proper judgment delivery. Makes me appear vulnerable, yet resolved.

  • Excellent Video! Thanks for sharing.

What's the name of the song? Interesting music!

  • @Vanb19 Thanks, Van19; your input is appreciated. :)

  • @Vanb19 Just to add to my previous post. Mike Reynolds does not seem to be saying that you shouldn't build something from their plans or even something inspired by their designs. He appears, imo, to be stating that the name Earthship should not be attached to a project unless Biotecture is directly involved with the project. Who cares about the name anyway? As long as what you build serves its purpose, what you call it really shouldn't be that important.

  • @kissfool I have to agree with tizlizbiz. I'm not in any way associated with Biotecture, and I haven't spoken with anyone there. However, I did see the documentary "Garbage Warrior." They went through hell and back trying to get what they were doing legitimized. They have big picture concerns. I can completely understand why Mike Reynolds would not want just anyone throwing the name Earthship on their construction, even if the plans came directly from Biotecture.

  • @kissfool Our society has created a legal monster: .. I *think* I understand with legalities and protections being so necessary in our society why earthship would say this...if I were you the first thing I would do is ask a few questions of earthship before making decisions. They know best why they said what they did...

  • @incedious69 I understand with legalities and protections being so necessary in our society why earthship would say this. Calm questions in lieu of quick judgements are the preferred option here ...as on any thread of mine.
