  • I just bought some straps and use them for shrugs/stiff legged deadlifts. But I feel my grip fail at the same point. Then I get paranoid and rerack the weight... should I let the straps hold the weight at that point? It just feels like it's slipping out of my hands still.

  • Your grip will fail about the same point. The straps work best when you let some of the weight rest on the straps and use your "existing" grip as best you can. Avoid letting the straps carry all of the weight. Too tough on the wrists, anyway. If you have the straps wrapped correctly, you shouldn't feel like you are losing too much grip. It should be pretty comfortable. Wrap 'em tight!

  • WTF is the effect of it??? I mean, if u dont have straps then you press the dumbell, when you have straps you press the straps. So you should press weights in both cases, then what is the point? Your wrist gets tired anyway, doesnt it??

  • Thanks for viewing our video. Lifting straps are not designed to support your wrists during pressing movements. Rather, the straps allow the user to "hang on" to weights greater than their ability to grip. When wrapped properly around the bar, the weight of the bar is "gripped" by the straps through friction and supported by the user's wrists. There are lots of straps out there. We believe ours are stronger and offer better comfort w/the inclusion of wrist bands to be worn under the straps.

  • Dude...You need a gripping product that was designed and Patented for one purpose. To allow you to focus on the lift and NOT your failing grip! Haulin Hooks do just that with PLUSH wrist comfort, AND Center Pull Hooks that allow you to bang through to end of set....EVEN WHEN GRIP IS GONE!!! Talks cheap so check em out Dude you'll see I speak no smack!

  • it is for pulling movements.

example, i can lift 100kg deadlift for 5 reps but then my grip ran out

then i bought some straps and i could lift 10 rips without the bar slipping.

  • no the straps help your grip not to slip when using heavy weights
