@rinconbaptist I would think it may have been most likely the former case. For a clear view of HCSB's Gender Language Policy in Bible Translation, just Google "gender language policy of HCSB" and click on the first one.
@jeltzz1 perhaps no women because they interviewed pastors and professors, who are mostly men. Or it may be because the HCSB is NOT gender-neutral, while the NRSV, updated NIV and NLT is.
Gender neutrality in translation is historically unsound by adding words to give neutrality. Meaning the RNIV has some issues.
