Mass demonstrations by thousands of students and trade unionists in central London against an increase in tuition fees, are growing more violent. It's the latest and the largest in a string of rallies against sweeping austerity measures and budget cuts across Europe. What started as a relatively peaceful march later turned into violent clashes with the police, which is largerly outnumbered by the demonstrators. http:www.yourstate.co.uk
@HinchyFilms And other than that, they still don't need to pay unless they're earning a decent wage. I still can't see the problem. Personally I believe it sorts those who want to learn and work from those who want to laze about and get pissed.

@HinchyFilms I take it you mean £3,000 a year WERE the fees and now THEY"RE £8,000 or £9,000 a year. And throwing sticks isn't the way to go about things, nor is lobbing a fire extinguisher off a roof trying to kill people. Nothing wrong with peaceful protest but this lot should have been hit with rubber bullets.

@theroilsoil I'm still waiting for one single reason the students are protesting. Please, one of you "informed" let me know. And what are parents paying and to where, exactly? Is it that students need to pay for accommodation? That's always been the case. Welcome to the real world. And the Government is failing? Where, exactly? Point for point, please.

@youredeadfred
It's going to get ALOT better in the days ahead. :)
I agree . . . the horse trampling of the cop is shear poetry . . . and we'll see more, they have it coming to them if they choose to support a corrupt political system just so they can earn a paycheck.

@noordinaryfamily
Sitting back and being screwed by the very people you pay is even worse.
No . . . what these students are doing is right . . . and their parents need to
be brave enough to stop paying one more dime towards supporting their
failing government.

Notice the "cops" seam so clumbsy . . . great to see several trampled by the tax-payer supported horses. Let freedom ring!!
