Trailer for the upcoming documentary on Why The Lucky Stiff.

Why The Lucky Stiff (often known simply as "_why") was a prolific programmer, artist, writer, and musician who released in 2004 a landmark technical manual titled, "Why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby," an introductory book on the Ruby programming language. His guide was both lauded and disparaged and it thrust _why into the epicenter of a rapidly expanding, international Ruby community.

Then in 2009 he suddenly removed all of his code repositories, shutdown his IRC, GitHub, and Twitter accounts, disabled his servers, and effectively deleted his public, online presence. As quickly as _why was born, _why effectively died.

The film will premiere at the international RubyConf November 1-3, 2012, and is directed by Austin filmmaker-programmer Kevin Triplett. The film utilizes elements of _why's recovered writings, art, code, music, talks, style, and humor.

Oh ... and lots of rabbits and lemonade.
