Yes, I have always run large standards along with my bantam chickens. The key is to raise them together, or in this case there are separate buildings they go into at night. It is nice to have a few fancies around for color and character and then the layers as large standards. Good plan!

So I take it it's perfectly fine to run bantams with regular/medium sized chickens? I would kind of like to do medium sized hens for steady egg production and then some fancy little bantams for fun and looks... The Mille Fluer is beautiful!

@gokory I have in the past, but no more... I support 4-H and help others show their birds now... mine remain here. When I did show, I was awarded Champion Bantam and Champion Standard with grand Champion going to my Silver Sebright hen.. I figured I'd quit while I was ahead :}
