My parents would often take us to hear the Bluegrass Alliance at Ken Pyle's Storefront Congregation (a great little storefront bar) in Louisville. Hicks' Peaceable Kingdom was painted in mural on the back wall. I'll never forget sitting there eating beer cheese and looking right up at them playing. The Alliance was invited to our home a few times. Now, at 50, I am playing bluegrass on stand-up bass - and I'm thinking of starting fiddle one of these days.

Lonnie Peerce was my grandfather and supposedly started the Bluegrass Alliance. I love this song and bluegrass music in general. Sadly, I don't play but am trying to learn. I have met alot of people who knew him. My younger brother plays several instruments, he has the ear. We really don't know much about him. When my grandmother died we rarely saw him after 1983. I remember Sam, Vince, and Tony when I was little. They would come to Lonnies house in that big green and white Winnebago

@1516levi1 Garland , Danny W., Darryl, Marty, and Lonnie are on, "Ghost Riders." I was the last to leave Lonnie other than Garland.

Marty played with them from November 1973 to December 1974.

@LynyrdsSkyn Mary Wilson played guitar with the Alliance for a short time in 1975. Marty was with them right before Vince Gill was with them, If my memory serves me correct, he was only with Lonnie for about five or six months.
