@Oneaphelion It's just one of the paradigms that allow scientists to study the relationship between neurons and behaviour. We use fruitflies because we can made transgenic animals to dissect the contributions and interactions of different brain areas and neurons.
Apart from this beer goggle effect, the questions they're trying to address here (I think) include: how animals recognise member of the same/opposite sex, what neuron circuit is involves, etc.

Is really not like that. what theyre trying to say is that a substance in ethanol reduces the inhibitions in certain species boosting the libido and making them hypersexual such case as humans. You really cant be that black and white about saying alcohol makes people gay or water makes them straight!! thats just simply ignorant hatred. and just to make sure, im not a homophobic my brother is gay and i love him and accept him for who he is.
