Black loyalty to the Democratic party:Time for a change?

As a demographic blacks have been fiercely loyal to the democratic party. The last time more than 15% of Blacks voted for a republican was in 1960, when Richard Nixon carried 32% of the Black vote. Question:What has been the affect of Democratic policies on Blacks through the years? Your thoughts please. All points of view are welcome, as long as the debate is civil.

Nixon got a large percent of black voters and he called blacks stupid and pushed for policies to incarcerate them. Reagan pushed for policies to give blacks longer sentences and slashed funding to inner city schools. Republicans are judge for their racist actions today especially trying to block dem voters.

@examinfo So we should do away with the minimum wage, with wealthfare/foodstamps(but not Wealthcare), and continue conservative policies of punishment(mandatory minimum sentences, prison building and fines) over rehabilitation and education?
That makes no sense.

The argument against the minimum wage is ridiculous. Every civilized country has a minimum wage, what sort of ultra right ideology are you trying to feed here?. Republican policies lead to more people going to prison, because they focus on punishment rather than rehabilitation.

@trixapete please no vulgarity. It is a simple question, why does a certain group of people; In this case blacks vote en masse for the Democratic party election after election?
