A look at the good and bad of the amazing Blade MCP-X

CHECK YOUR FEATHERING SHAFT! LOCTITE AND TIGHTENING IS REQUIRED!

E-flite has done it again with the release of the new MCP-X. Its a Micro helicopter that plays like the big boys! This thing is everything a pilot could ask for in something small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and put up with the hardest hits gravity and put out. Check it out at your local hobby shop!

Enjoy

  • selling mine on ebay, just not having fun with it sooooo squirrel-leeeeee

  • @209cynical Dial your swash mix down and it won't be

  • Will it turn left on the ruddder (yaw) because the MSR X won't!

  • @GadgetMart of course.. and if your MSRx won't, theres something wrong with it.. Iv flown them, and I own the original MSR, and they work just fine..

  • Would you say that i could start with this heli becuase i have flown several 4ch heli's before without any trouble

  • @GtGills Are they proper 4 channel helis? with swash plates and gyro mixing? or walmart specials. If there from Walmart or similar then no, go to a hobby shop and get an MCX2, if they are proper helis then its possible, turn down the swash mix to dampen the controls and DONT fly in idle up mode yet, stay in normal mode until you are absolutely certain you know how the machine operates. Crashing in idle up means certain destruction to inexperienced pilots. normal mode will save you money

  • @RobscoRC I agree. Definitely not a learner tool. I found it to be a very frustrating machine. Out of the box it was completely uncontrollable, especially with the RTF tx (a dx4e!!). The parts are far from indestructible. I've had two tail booms which fall to bits with the slightest knock, and two sets of landing gear, none of which are as pliable as the one in the video above. I'm thinking about moving up to a bigger more stable machine, with a tail that holds, unlike the one on the mcpx.

  • Dx6i seems fine i probably wont fly anything with more channels soon and the 10 programmable models seem enough atm.

  • Okay thx, the dx6i seems fine for me because i don't know if i will fly anything with more than 6 channels soon and the programmable 10 models seem way enough.

Ah so the throttle curve is for the starting promarily because i know that a cp heli most of the time has fixed rpm and regulates altitude with the pitch of the blades of course... Thx for the info and i might really consider mcpx as next heli when i am perfect with the msr...

  • @ForceM1782 Throttle curve is used to control the throttle separately from the controls. Its not necessarily when going forward, its more for rising and descending without loosing RPM. Its used primarily in "Idle up" mode, where the motor will remain at 90-100% throttle all the time, and your lift and descent is controlled by pitch. Of course you would not take off like this. making it hit 100% throttle from zero would only blow gears.. Its a science, and you'll learn with your next heli
