Gordon Brown parliament speech on hacking, part1/3 (13July11)

Part 1 of 3: Gordon Brown bothers to turn up to parliament after a 15 month sulk to make a rambling and factually incorrect speech about hacking by certain newspapers. Gordon omits various relevant facts to his speech about Labour shenanigans, like Labour finding out the private details of rail crash victims, then trashing their reputations in the press.

Strange how as Prime Minister and TOP boss, he chose to do nothing, as Labour did for 13 years of good press, he claims he was advised to do nothing. YOU were the boss, you did what you liked with everything else. Your story is COMPLETELY unbelievable.

Labour supporters won't agree with this comment, but it's probably the worst speech given to parliament in a VERY long time, it just makes you want to punch your computer monitor / TV.

Its true New Labour, especially under Blair was far to close to the Murdoch press.

But you are attacking Brown when you should be attacking the poisonous gutter press. Politicians like Brown have to take pressure but what about leaches like Dominic Mohan of the Sun. They never have to face critique but the disgusting hate-filled rags they edit have destroyed innocent lives.

I'm an American who's only heard him speak on PBS w/Charlie Rose and on C-span's Booktv. I saved each interview with my DVR and have watched them several times. I loved what he had to say and was very impressed with his ideas and intelligence. I, unfortunately, didn't follow anything political here or there until about a year ago.

I will have to do some research on that, but from what I heard and saw I genuinely was inspired by him:)
