For those of you who haven't yet played around with Raspberry Pi, this one's for you. In this how-to video, Matt walks you through how to get a Raspberry Pi up and running. It's the first in a series of Raspberry Pi videos that we're releasing to accompany our new book, Getting Started with Raspberry Pi. It covers Raspberry Pi and Linux basics and then works up to using Scratch, Python, GPIO (to control LED's and switches), and web development on the board.

wicked! none of the bloat or "oooh shiney" stuff that most computers are these days.

Yes. It has a HDMI video chip, and many people use it as a media center because it can play 1080 so smoothly.

What would be awesome is if they built in wifi on it. Problem i have with it is that for about the same money, I can buy a built in CPU on a mini motherboard for $50 that includes wifi, much faster processor, etc. Still would need the power supply, but those are cheap for mini mb's. Dunno... RP is a great idea.... Just still thinking about it. I think its a choice between spending $30 and getting a 20x better computer... Lots of cables with the pi too, hubs, etc... hhmmzz.
