I lived in these barracks buildings in the 1980's and they were kept in good, serviceable condition. It looks like this buildingwas empty for a few years and then they just assigned the returning unit into their old, NEGLECTED building. A general should get relieved for this. They will not do that though.

We are turning in the soviet union, or some other third world country- for the sake of rich people and their pursuit of power and money. We Americans deserve this because we tolerate it.

I hope the 508th lives on in greatness! My desire is that the barracks become a palace where young breasty women feed grapes to brave soldiers, and wine is served at breakfast.

one- this video is old two- the new barracks for 4th bct 2508 are the shit three- you had pictures of airborne school barracks on the video that doesnt really count........cause airborne school was only three weeks and wasnt bad at all is was fun and the barracks themselves were pretty nice

@7mikethebike I lived in these barracks in the 90's (3/504) and they sucked by then. They weren't quite as bad as this video- almost, but not quite. I have photos, and people I have showed them to thought it looked like a prison.

I remember this. This lit a fire under the Army's ass. I was stationed in Korea at the the time that this story broke out. The entire Army had a mandatory health and welfare inspection of the barracks. And the Soldiers were to annotate any complaints they had about the barracks. Things were definitely made for the better after this. Thank you.

I was in Iraq when these photos were taken. When I got back to Bragg it felt like the majority of Ardennes st. had been leveled to make way for new barracks. I credit these photos for either the new barracks or at least lighting a fire under the 82nd command's asses. It was an honor to serve 5 years in the army, but these pictures symbolize to me what the 82nd really thinks about and treats their troops. Those barracks may be gone but that mentality is still there.

@Paranoia024 Sir, I was a soldier in The Black Watch for many years, as much as I sympathise with your plight and do agree with your complaints, its like this. When a soldier signs to join, he signs, Full Stop. A soldier does what he's told and thats it! I understand your frustration at the horrors. We never had a luxury of a phone call, internet and some of the food they are having now. After saying that, the barrack shots are awful, and its simple, get rid of the dipsticks that were elected!

i lived in these barracks from jan 2009 to april when we deployed. i purchased a pressure washer myself to clean the community bathroom because it was horrible. these korean war era barracks are unacceptable for anyone. when we got back in march of 2010 we all joked we would be moving back into them, i was half nervous.
