  • I would say that one of the purposes of polls would be the canvasing of political opinion. A desire to see what others think is a legitimate curiosity. That they influence voting preferences and the like is possible, though it is likely that people go in the OPPOSITE direction to majorities shown in polling.

  • This video barely has any comments. I suppose it's because people know how much polls lie. I have no doubt that polls are intended to influence how people think. What other purpose would there be to conduct a poll? Why does the public need to be informed about such things anyway? Polls are ridiculous and are not an accurate reflection of what the general population thinks. Polls can be altered too, unless we have human monitors watching the pollsters 24 hours a day.
