@alexanderkraeved ok thanks, not my native language :)
-
@calpaycetin Not drunken, but drunkard.
-
My favorite is:
"What's your nationality?"
"I'm a drunken"
:))

I don't think that Conrad Veidt gets over looked at all! What is really tragic, is that he died of a heart attack the following year, ('43) @ only 50. He really made a mark with this role & he could have done much more... His last role was brilliantly done.
-
Is Conrad Veidt really great in this movie, or what? Everyone knows how good Bogart, Bergman, Henreid, Greenstreet, Lorre and Raines were, but Veidt gets overlooked, I think.

The dialogue throughout the entire film is true cinematic poetry. Very well written screenplay

"there are certain sections of New York that I advise you not to invade."
-
Rick: When you get there, ask me.
Renault: Hmph! Diplomatist!
Lol! Claude Rains is so delightful in this movie!

I am surprised that Rick's remark advising the German's not to invade certain parts of New York City IS NOT a part of the folk lore of this movie.. That was the funniest line in the show.. Play video again if u missed it..
"Are my eyes really brown?" Love that line.
