A few people have asked what gets connected to the different connectors on a relay.

Well, since I had an idea, but wasnt 100% sure, I did some reading and decided to do a quick vid.

I hope it helps.

    I have a combo EFIE and PWM each has its own power supply. I understand the routing for the PWM side, But I plan to draw power for the EFIE from the ignition switch, Do I need a fuse in this power line to protect the EFIE.

  • not sure about that - to be safe I would say yes (I mean it couldnt hurt right?). However you might want to talk to a mechanic and see what he/she says.

    I'm not a mechanic so take what I say with a grain of salt.

  • This diagram is wrong...notice that 87 should be connect to the battery and 30(amps) should be connect to the HHO...after that, every thing else is looking good.

  • Ummm... then the other sites where I got this info is wrong too.

    If you have some support documents to show this is wrong, feel free to post them.

    BTW is it possible that there is more than one way to skin a cat (or use a relay)?

  • danburford58 might be a car stereo installer and it is always good to have a ground to the battery through a wire(-) because a bad ground can cause an unstable stereo system or PWM malfunction with the high currents involved. The "ground" metal in your car may not always be grounded well. You can burn wiring... that's my analogy but I don't know his intended meaning.

    Besides if you hook up your cell negative to the vehicle chassis wouldnt it mess up the readings on an amp gauge? or possibly effect other vehicle components?

    Like I said, I'm not that smart, but it seems it would.

  • The fourth post (87) is "normally open" and the fifth post (87A) is "normally closed". Meaning that 87 will be "off" until you energize the coil (85 and 86 posts) and 87A will always be "on" until you energize the coil.

  • . 87A is a second output on the relay, example, remember those old car and when buddy put the marker lights on, there was 2 amber lights on the front of the car and thay flash back and fourth, thats what the 5pin is for, im working on i light system for my bicycle, its on my channel. and i got two 40amp relays from TheSource, 5 pin. 12v basicly the five pin is a "two way" relay. hope this helps thumbs up if it does
