If the fabulous Glenda Farrell (1904 - 1971), the woman, was remotely similar to the characters she usually played on screen, she has to have been one of the most fascinanting people who ever lived in this world. One movie after another, she has always given all of her in order to make her performances as realistic as possible. The sassy-brassy-tough women she habitually portrayed are certainly unforgettable, and it's always such a huge delight to watch her either after someone's money, blackmailing or just being nosy over others' business. Her characters during the '30s were always basically strong, clever, loquacious, witty, and she played all of them at perfection. I just needed one movie to fall in love with her tremendous talent: "Mystery of the Wax Museum" (1933), where she completely stole the show. Over the years, I could watch many more movies with her in, and must say that she never disappointed me. Her vivid and energetic performances always give proof of the amazing talent of an actress way ahead of her time.

Thank you so much for your awesome legacy, dear Glenda! You were definitely BRILLIANT, one of a kind.

  • Molto bella Glenda!

  • @Harlowfan2008 Thank YOU for watching and commenting! I love Glenda Farrell and every single performance by her that I have watched. Although I yet have to see her in that episode of "Bewitched". It must be kind of strange to see her work in the '60s!

  • Thanks for this lovely tribute to a beautiful actress! I love her work in "A Lady For a Day" and "I am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang". She was in an epi of "Bewitched" during the 60's, and was so lovely and graceful.

  • It's kind of sad but understandable, as she was generally cast to play supporting roles in most of her movies. But, fortunately, she was such a fabulous scene-stealer and, therefore, always able to make her presence noticeable, no matter how small could be the part she was given. I would recommend you to try to get "Mystery of the Wax Museum" (1933) and "I Am A Fugitive from a Chaing Gang" (1932) -just to mention a few ones- in which she fairly stole the show!
