  • What is the minimum housing requirments for Gymnotorax Tile?

Also if you would'nt mind telling me the names of those plants thanx

  • @MatGTAM

    Hi!

Usually they say that you should have an aquarium thats 2,5 times longer than the moray eel. And with my experience i can say that its right. He stopped to eat and didnt start untiltil we bought a larger aquarium.

  • @MatGTAM Almost forgot: The name of the plant is Microsorum pteropus. It´s a common plant and should not be to hard to find. It can stand brackish water until a certain point of salinity . Here you got a list of some brackish water plants: Aponogeton crispus Bacopa monnieri Crinum natans Crinum thaianum Glossostigma elantinoides Lilaeopsis brasiliensis Nymphaea lotus "green" Nymphaea lotus "red" Spathiphyllum wallisii Vesicularia dubyana

    Hi!

Well this type of Moray Eel (Gymnothorax tile) are supposed to live in brackish water and thats easyer than marine tanks but a little bit harder than a tropical tank. It makes your choises of other fishes and plants a little bit narrower. Read my answers below and you will get an idea whats it all about!

intestens. So do not just feed him with filets!!!

You can also trie with other types of food as shrimps, squid etc. etc.

When the moray is feeling allright it will eat every other day.

At last, dont be worried if you dont get it to eat at once you have lot of time to get things right. Our moray has been refusing to eat for 4 months once!!

  • @MedeasHusse, @1997Donkey

After that its time for the salinity, the eel shall live in brackish water and, what i understand, later on in life will move out in the ocean.

Well, we keep our salinity at 1.003-1-005 Specific Gravity (SG). Salt and measure tool can you find in your pet shop

Now. after fixing these thing and letting it get used to them its feeding time!

We usally feed Mulle (as we call him) with herring, filets and whole fish. they need all the ingredients as spine, brains and

    Hi, thanks!

Well for us it has been a intresting thing to make our gymno thorax to like his enviroment and start to eat.

Dont worry yet! Let it get used ti its new enviroment!

Then u must have a aquarium thats big enough and be able to change the size of it when it grows. A un scienctific measurement says 2,5 times the morays lenght.

You have to bulid a lot of caves and tunnels for it to live in. We used plumbing pipes under the rocks, and builded a system of tunnels.

  • nice tank btw i just got the same eel yesterday and its not eating? how can i make it eat ?

plz answer thnx ,nice eel too!
