instead of using your finger, can you use a q tip and some 90% alcohol? I have a Sony that shows no image in play except for a Grey screen. when i fast forward it, i can see the image.
yep, easy fix that, and realy common on sonys. the gears on the underside slip in the wrong position, had a a few like that back in the day, good work :)
are you fixing a vcr or a porn tape na this vcr is broken as ----- nice vcr when i found my vcr it was working not broken just need a rubberband it call sony vcr but the head needed clean lol to you guy 80S 90s vcr rules dvd suck

The broken loading gear on the supply side is a common problem with Sony VHS decks of this age.
The fix is to replace the broken gear. This part is available for purchase from Studio Sound Electronics.
