Do kids even know what the recession is?

We keep hearing that the money we spend now and the decisions we make could place a huge burden on our children. But we rarely ask them what they think. So we convened a Small Town Hall. Marketplace's Scott Jagow sat down with a few kids to listen to their ideas about money, the economy and the future.

OK. ok...my joke falls somewhat short, but like you, I'm very impressed with this childs understanding!

It would be a bit much to expect a kid to understand more than Bernake, how the Fed created the ultra cheap credit and the Gov actually required banks to meet a quota of sub prime mortgage loans made, etc.. I'm impressed with the kid's understanding. He is a lot more aware of economics than I was at his age.
